BiH COURT'S VERDICT AGAINST DURAKOVIĆ MOCKS SERB VICTIMS
BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 1 /SRNA/ – The Veterans' Organization of Republika Srpska /BORS/ stated that the Court of BiH is mocking Serb victims by sentencing the commander of the 43rd Brigade of the so-called Army of BiH, Ramiz Duraković, to only three and a half years in prison for war crimes committed against Serb civilians in the Čajniče area.
According to BORS, this verdict by BiH's distorted judiciary effectively rewards rather than punishes Duraković. "We consider such a ruling a form of satisfaction and encouragement to repeat the very crimes for which the accused was tried. For all of us - and especially for the families of the victims - this sentence is more insulting than it is a reflection of justice or any kind of compensation for the innocent lives lost," BORS emphasized. The organization noted that the Court of BiH, under the guise of supposed justice, impartiality, and objectivity, mocks not only the victims but also the Geneva and Hague Conventions - as Serbs are being judged more harshly under Inzko's law than Muslims are under international humanitarian law. On Thursday, October 30, the Court of BiH sentenced Ramiz Duraković, commander of the 43rd Brigade of the so-called Army of BiH, to three years and six months in prison for war crimes against Serb civilians in Čajniče in 1993. Duraković was convicted for the killing of Darinka Pijević and for setting fire to the homes of Rajko Pijević and Miloš Pijević.
