DODIK: WE FULLY UNDERSTAND SECURITY COUNCIL'S POSITIONS

BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 1 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that Republika Srpska has fully understood the positions of the Security Council and emphasized that dialogue in BiH is necessary, and that he is ready for talks until a solution is reached or they become meaningless.

Dodik thanked Russia, which has persistently, for years, presented Republika Srpska’s Reports to that high-level forum; China, which has remained principled regarding Christian Schmidt’s illegitimacy; and the United States, which consistently implements the policies of its President, Donald Trump “Russia and China are principled in their stance; they have played a constructive role for years, and this is the realistic position of two powerful countries,” Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka. He added that the United States' position could also be heard, which reflects everything Trump said, that America would not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries nor implement interventionist measures. “America, in its positions, states that it will not build other states and nations, which means that domestic leaders, here, the constituent peoples, something that has not been heard for a long time from certain American structures, need to sit down and reach an agreement,” Dodik said. He emphasized that Republika Srpska understands that dialogue is necessary. “We want it, we are ready and more than ready to engage in dialogue, and we will continue to do so until a solution is found or until it becomes completely meaningless,” Dodik said. He also thanked Serbia, noting that it has been very precise and clear, and emphasized that Croatia has expressed its position as well, which aligns with the principle that there can only be equality and equal dialogue in BiH. Dodik pointed out a significant shift in positions compared to six months or a year ago, indicating the understanding of reality rather than taking sides. “A state cannot be built by violating the constitution, as was done until February; a state cannot be built by imposing the domination of some over others, which is unsustainable. But the greatest and most tragic issue for BiH is that the Bosniaks, the Muslims, do not understand the moment at all, nor do they have a political elite capable of doing so,” Dodik said. He emphasized that they remain trapped in their stereotype, believing that this is a moment of anger when some of their favorites will return and impose their solution. “That is impossible,” Dodik stressed. According to him, the EU is stuck in its own problems and will have to provide answers as to whether what Schmidt is doing constitutes, as they like to say, abuse of the law, or whether it is legally sustainable. “Our future discussions with various structures will depend on that answer,” Dodik concluded.
