BiH PRESIDENCY ADOPTED CONSTITUTIONAL AND LAWFUL BUDGET, BAM 1,000 FOR WORKERS
SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers, Srđan Amidžić, says it is important that the Presidency of BiH, at the proposal of the line ministry, unanimously adopted the budget for BiH institutions and international obligations for this year, which is constitutional, lawful, and implementable.
"I am pleased that the Presidency of BiH adopted the budget proposed by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury without any changes," Amidžić told the press. According to him, since it is the end of the year, it is especially important that BiH institutions will be able to function normally and that there will be a legal basis for the payment of a one-time allowance to employees in joint institutions in the amount of BAM 1,000, including taxes and contributions, in accordance with the adopted budget. He added that the surplus funds in the BiH budget, within the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, were allocated to employees in joint institutions. "We have also taken on the obligation, regarding the 2026 budget, to plan another one-time allowance in an amount not less than BAM 200, and we expect it to be significantly higher," Amidžić said. He believes this is a good path toward a return to professionalism, the law, and the Constitution. Amidžić expressed satisfaction that all members of the Presidency of BiH recognised that the budget, proposed back in March, deserves public support. "It is now very important, since the budget has been submitted under an urgent procedure, that the process be completed as soon as possible so that we can exit the temporary financing regime, and that employees in joint institutions get higher salaries as soon as possible, as provided for in this budget," Amidžić noted. He also says it is possible, in line with the planned funds, to increase the coefficients for workers with secondary education. "This was a normal process that we could have completed at the beginning of the year, but we are finishing it now. I expect that the Parliament of BiH will also adopt it in this form," Amidžić concluded. The Presidency of BiH today unanimously adopted the budget of institutions and international obligations of BiH for 2025. The proposed budget amounts to BAM 1.5 billion and compared to the previous proposal, it differs in not including increased funds for the Armed Forces of BiH, financing of institutions of cultural significance, or funds for the repayment of BHRT debts. After adoption by the Presidency, the budget goes into procedure in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
