BANKING SECTOR WELL-CAPITALIZED AND LIQUID

The sector's gross balance sheet assets amounted to BAM 11.9 billion on September 30, which is an increase of 6.5% or BAM 730 million compared to December 31 of last year, according to the report adopted by the Agency. Total gross loans increased by BAM 422 million or 6.3% compared to the end of last year, reaching BAM 7.1 billion, while total deposits stand at BAM 8.9 billion, marking an increase of BAM 588 million or 7%. The report further states that household savings amount to BAM 5.4 billion, which is BAM 346 million or 7.1% higher than in the compared period. During the nine-month period, the microcredit sector recorded stable performance indicators, confirming its important role in the financial system. Total gross assets of the microcredit sector stood at BAM 856 million, an increase of 17% or BAM 124 million compared to the end of last year, while total gross loans reached BAM 753 million, up 14% or BAM 92 million compared to the end of 2024, the report notes. It adds that the sector's positive financial result as of September 30 amounted to BAM 35 million. With this continued stable growth, both the banking and microcredit sectors remain key pillars of the country's financial stability. The data clearly show that both sectors continue to build a strong and reliable financial framework that remains a cornerstone of further economic development, the report concludes.
