MILUNOVIĆ: SRPSKA ECONOMY SHOWS CONTINUOUS STABILITY

BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 18 /SRNA/ – The Director of the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics Darko Milunović has stated today that Republika Srpska's economy generally shows continuous stability and that its economic activity is at an enviable level, which is also demonstrated by the growth of the gross domestic product /GDP/ for 16 consecutive quarters.

Milunović said that, despite all the shocks that even much stronger economies struggle to withstand, Republika Srpska has maintained continuous wage growth, nearly identical import–export ratio with the goal of changing that structure in the future, as well as relatively stable inflation where wages have grown faster than prices. "When assessing the economy and the labour market, it is always necessary to consider a serious context, particularly the last five to six years, during which we have faced, among other things, the COVID-19 pandemic, the energy crisis, and inflationary shocks," Milunović told the press in Banja Luka.
