DEĐANSKI: KARAN'S WIN REFLECTS DEFENSE OF NATIONAL POLICY

BELGRADE, NOVEMBER 24 /SRNA/ – Preliminary results of the early presidential election in Republika Srpska, in which SNSD candidate Siniša Karan emerged victorious, show that the policy of defending the national interest has triumphed, political analyst Stevica Deđanski told SRNA.

Deđanski pointed out that the people never face a dilemma when choosing between national and non-national options, as they always opt for the national. "There was a clear division here between the candidate of Christian Schmidt and the candidate expected to defend the national interest. Despite all the techniques used to make Schmidt's candidate win, the Serb people resisted, and the candidate who will defend the Serb national interest and continue Milorad Dodik's policy prevailed," Deđanski emphasized. He believes it is now clear that those who pushed for Milorad Dodik’s political removal achieved nothing. "They did physically succeed in removing Dodik from the presidency, because if he had been the SNSD candidate, the victory would probably have been more decisive," Deđanski says. He added that, despite this, they were unable to deceive the people of Republika Srpska. "When Dodik said yesterday that they wanted to remove him, but now they will have two Dodiks, it was humorous, but also true. There is no doubt that the Serb people will continue the fight, and the results are more than encouraging," Deđanski stressed. According to BiH CEC results based on 99.72 percent of the sample, Karan won 50.3 percent of the vote in the early presidential election in Republika Srpska, while opposition candidate Branko Blanuša received 48.37 percent.
