MINIĆ: PROSECUTORS AND JUDGES MUST START PROSECUTING CORRUPTION

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić stated that Srpska must fight against corruption and called on judicial institutions to start taking action on this issue.

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić stated that Srpska must fight against corruption and called on judicial institutions to start taking action on this issue.

Minić told reporters to ask the courts and prosecutors’ offices why they are not acting on corruption reports and why there is no information about those cases. “Why has the prosecutor done nothing with the reports I mentioned regarding Šume Srpske and everything else? Do you know how much more orderly the system would be, and how much more people would trust justice and the law? We are paying them to do nothing,” Minić told reporters in Banja Luka on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day. He noted that corruption exists even in the most well-organized systems and that it must be fought to reduce it to a level that does not threaten the system. Minić said that, regarding the amendments to the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction, there are allegations of corruption. He stated that he instructed the Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction, and Ecology, Bojan Vipotnik, that this amendment entails taking over only those cases from local governments that have not been resolved within the legal deadline. Minić added that, at the request of a party, the Ministry takes over the case and resolves it so that investments are not delayed. “In such a case, the Ministry does not take a single KM from the local community,” Minić said.
