LEGISLATIVE PROCEDURE ON AMENDMENTS TO THE LAW ON THE COURT OF BiH SUSPENDED

SARAJEVO, December 22 /SRNA/ - The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH has adopted a negative opinion of the Constitutional and Legal Commission of this House on the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Court of BiH, thereby suspending the legislative procedure on this draft law.

The proposed amendments were submitted by MPs of opposition parties from Republika Srpska. The House of Representatives today also adopted, in the first reading, the Draft Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council /HJPC/ of BiH, which was likewise proposed by MPs of opposition parties from Republika Srpska. Seventeen MPs voted in favour, ten were against, while 11 MPs abstained. Concluding today's session, Speaker of the House of Representatives Marinko Čavara said that the next regular session will be held on January 22 next year.
