TADIĆ: CEC IS TRYING TO CHANGE WILL OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA’S CITIZENS IN MURKY WATERS

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 24 /SRNA/ – Law expert Ognjen Tadić told SRNA that there is no doubt that the decision of the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH to annul elections at 136 polling stations is motivated by the hope that repeat voting will create complete confusion over who should vote again, and that in such murky waters an attempt will be made to change the already established election result, according to which SNSD candidate Siniša Karan won the early presidential elections.

Tadić assumes that the initiators of the CEC's decision found inspiration in the recent case of the Korićani polling station near Kneževo, where voters, out of protest, refused to turn out at all for the repeated elections. "If that is the case, then the CEC is obviously hoping that voters of Siniša Karan will boycott the repeated elections out of protest, which would, in such a scenario, benefit his opponents," Tadić said. He noted that the latest CEC decision targets the margin of victory in favor of SNSD candidate Siniša Karan. "For the most part, it targets polling stations where the SNSD traditionally records leading results," Tadić said. According to Tadić, political Sarajevo clearly does not know when to stop, which is why the farce continues with the stripping of the mandate from Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and attempts to force that mandate, at any cost, into the hands of someone who would obey Christian Schmidt. "Be that as it may, a new round of legal disputes over challenging this decision lies ahead, and ultimately the possibility of repeated voting at these polling stations," Tadić concluded.
