REGARDLESS OF LAGUMDŽIJA’S WISHES, THE PEOPLES OF BiH DECIDE WHO WILL HOLD THE MOST IMPORTANT OFFICES
SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 27 /SRNA/ – The Ambassador of BiH to Romania, Milorad Živković, says that regardless of Zlatko Lagumdžija’s wishes, the peoples of BiH, together with a smaller portion of those who identify as citizens, will decide who will hold the most important offices in BiH.
Živković told SRNA that Lagumdžija did Denis Bećirović a disservice with his statement that Milorad Dodik, Dragan Čović, and Bakir Izetbegović should be removed from the political arena in BiH in order for the country to move forward. “Politics does not tolerate premature staffing, and such proposals are usually quickly spent. On the other hand, it is forgotten that due to poor staffing decisions, the said colleague himself was expelled from the SDP,” Živković said. At the same time, he adds, it is an indisputable fact that the civic option, as a poor version of political cross-dressers, especially among the Bosniak people, experienced a major fiasco in the past term. This is confirmed by the latest ruling of the European Court of Human Rights /Slaven Kovačević v. BiH/, as well as by the political positions of nationally oriented parties, reflected in the inability to reach agreement on implementing earlier rulings of the same court. “BiH is slowly but surely returning to the parameters of the original Dayton Peace Agreement, which was the goal of all of us from Republika Srpska, while the concept of a civic BiH and Lagumdžija’s unfulfilled dream along with those who seek a unitary BiH based on the principle ‘one man, one vote’increasingly resembles a mission impossible,” Živković concluded.
