SELAK: CONDEMNING CEC’S ACTIONS AND STRONG SUPPORT FOR SINIŠA KARAN

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 28 /SRNA/ – The Socialist Party of Srpska /SPS/ Main Committee condemned at today’s session in Banja Luka actions of the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH toward the Republika Srpska institutions and the holding of snap presidential elections no one wanted.

Party Leader Goran Selak noted that Republika Srpska elected its president three years ago and did not request the calling of extraordinary elections. “These elections cost several million BAM. With that money, we could have helped the socially vulnerable population of Srpska. However, offiical Sarajevo showed no understanding. This is the money of our citizens, which was spent on elections that no one in Srpska requested or expected,” Selak told the press after the meeting. He added that the Main Committee discussed the current political situation in Republika Srpska and the possible repetition of extraordinary presidential elections. “It is known that SPS has given strong support to Siniša Karan /the SNSD presidential candidate/ for future president of Republika Srpska. If elections are repeated at 136 polling stations in Srpska, SPS will strongly support Karan,” Selak emphasized. He believes that the ultimate intention of the CEC and official Sarajevo is to further humiliate the citizens of Srpska and Republika Srpska, and that their wish is for Republic Day to be celebrated without a president. We know how much injustice has been done to the presidents of Srpska – Karadžić, Poplašen, Dodik, which is not accidental. Even large states would struggle with such problems, but Republika Srpska is strong, it endures, and it moves forward with firm steps,” Selak concluded.
