PROMOTING INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA TO BUSINESS DIASPORA
BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 29 /SRNA/ – Representatives of the Investment-Development Bank /IDB/ of Republika Srpska and Serbia's Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region today agreed on a work plan for 2026 and ways to promote investment opportunities in Republika Srpska to the business diaspora.
The IDB, headed by Acting Director Nedeljko Ćorić, made itself available to attract members of the diaspora through the largest financial institution in Republika Srpska and potentially encourage them to launch business ventures in Republika Srpska. "This also includes establishing a contact point through the IDB, as well as a joint approach by the Directorate and the Bank with local partners, namely chambers of commerce and diaspora business clubs," the IDB said in a statement. At today's meeting in Banja Luka, coordinators from both sides were proposed to be involved in the cooperation and communication process, and it was also agreed to redefine the memorandum of cooperation itself due to the expansion of joint activities. "The intention behind establishing cooperation between these two institutions also includes joint work on projects aimed at developing local communities and strengthening vulnerable and socially sensitive population groups in local environments, as documented in the memorandum of cooperation signed two years ago," the statement said. This cooperation was agreed at the highest institutional level at the time, with full support from the presidents of Serbia and Republika Srpska. In addition to Ćorić, the meeting was attended by Director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region operating within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Vladimir Kokanović, Acting Executive Director for Legal Affairs and International Cooperation of the IDB Vera Sukara, Director of the Sector for International Cooperation Siniša Pepić, Director of the Sector for Promotion of Foreign Investments Zoran Talić, and Chief of Staff to the IDB Director Dušan Milošević.
