INDICTMENT FILED AGAINST FOUR PERSONS FOR CRIMES AGAINST SERB AND CROAT CIVILIANS IN ZENICA
SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 30 /SRNA/ – The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an indictment against Nesib Talić, Jusuf Karalić, Nešid Delalić and Sabahudin Sarajlić for war crimes committed against civilians of Serb and Croat nationality on the premises of the Music School in Zenica.
The accused are charged, in their capacity as commanders and members of military security and military police of the Seventh Muslim Brigade of the so-called Army of BiH during the armed conflict in BiH, with acting contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions on the protection of civilian persons in time of war, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced. The indictment states that during 1993, the building of the Music School in Zenica, which served as a detention facility, was used to bring in and imprison several dozen civilians of Croat and Serb nationality from the Zenica area and its surroundings. The detainees were subjected to inhumane treatment, causing them severe physical and mental pain and suffering, as they were held in inhumane conditions. As a result of these crimes, two civilians died, whose bodies were later found and exhumed in the Zenica area, while a larger number of detained civilians suffered serious physical and psychological injuries and were denied medical assistance. The accused are charged with violating the provisions of international humanitarian law and committing the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population.
