ĐOKIĆ: COURT AND CEC OF BiH ARE ACTING AGAINST STABILITY IN BiH

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 31 /SRNA/ – President of the Socialist Party /SP/ Petar Đokić assessed that the Court of BiH and the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH, by rejecting the SNSD’s appeal against the repetition of snap presidential elections in Republika Srpska, demonstrated that they are acting against stability in BiH. He expressed confidence that the repeated vote will confirm the majority will of the Serb people, who have placed their trust in Siniša Karan.

"Institutional bodies of BiH, including the Court and the CEC, are delivering serious blows to normal life in BiH by constantly problematizing situations," Đokić told reporters in Banja Luka. He noted that for 30 years there have been attacks on the integrity and existence of Republika Srpska, and that methods are continually sought to problematize the institutions of Srpska. "In this way, preparations are being made to reach a different political position from which it would be easier to confront Republika Srpska and carry out changes to the constitutional and legal system in Srpska and BiH," Đokić emphasized. According to him, they hope to achieve this with the help of the opposition in Republika Srpska, which he described as a very naive expectation that will not be realized. "The people of Republika Srpska are fully aware of the need for Srpska to live a normal and stable life, as ensured by the current system of governance in Republika Srpska. We have secured full safety for Republika Srpska and enabled it to develop normally and live like many other republics and states," Đokić stressed. He said he is convinced that the repeated elections will confirm the majority will of the Serb people expressed in the recently held early elections for President of Republika Srpska through the election of Karan. "Attempts at destabilization will not deter us from continuing to persistently and courageously fight to establish stability in BiH, nor will we tire of defending Republika Srpska as we have done over the past decades," Đokić said. Earlier today, the CEC of BiH decided that repeated snap elections for President of Republika Srpska will be held on February 8 next year at 136 polling stations across 17 electoral units. Yesterday, the Court of BiH rejected appeals by the SNSD and the SDS against the CEC’s earlier decision to annul snap election results at those 136 polling stations. These polling stations are located in Prijedor, Laktaši, Banja Luka, Doboj, Stanari, Lopare, Ugljevik, Osmaci, Zvornik, Vlasenica, Bratunac, Nevesinje, Gacko, Rudo, Bileća, Milići, and Brčko.
