SELAK: BiH COURT'S LEGAL VIOLENCE WAS EXPECTED
BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 31 /SRNA/ - The president of the Socialist Party of Republika Srpska, Goran Selak, told SRNA that the legal violence by the BiH Court in relation to the SNSD’s appeal seeking the annulment of the Central Election Commission /CEC/ decision was expected, given the court's attitude towards Republika Srpska in various legal proceedings.
"We have seen how they have acted in legal cases involving people from Republika Srpska in war crimes cases, where they applied the Criminal Code retroactively, and then when they tried the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, under a law imposed by an individual and not adopted through the parliamentary procedure," said Selak, who is also the Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska. He added that the CEC's decision to annul the elections at 136 polling stations, followed by the BiH Court rejecting the SNSD's appeal, is unclear, and that repeat voting will take place at these polling stations. "The SPS will strongly support Siniša Karan in the repeat elections. Karan will be the President of Republika Srpska, and everyone knows that, yet they want Republika Srpska to celebrate Republic Day without an elected president in office," Selak said. He stated that, despite such intentions, Republika Srpska is stronger than ever, its institutions are robust, and the coalition gathered around the SNSD is powerful. The BiH Court rejected the appeals of the SNSD and SDS against the decision of the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH to annul the results of the early election for the President of Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations. In its appeal, the SNSD sought to annul the CEC's decision to hold repeat elections at 136 polling stations, while the SDS argued that elections should be repeated at a larger number of polling stations.
