RAJILIĆ: SERB PEOPLE WILL NEVER GIVE UP CELEBRATING REPUBLIC DAY
BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 3 /SRNA/ – The Serb people will never give up celebrating January 9 - Republic Day, regardless of all pressures and threats, Božica Živković Rajilić, the head of the Association of Republika Srpska Women Victims of War, told SRNA.
"As long as there is even one person left in Republika Srpska, especially Serb veterans, families of fallen soldiers, war invalids and former detainees who went through the Defensive – Patriotic War, Republic Day will not be abandoned," Rajilić said. She recalled that Republika Srpska was created in peace, and that 24,000 Serb soldiers and about 9,500 civilians gave their lives in its defence. Rajilić also stated that the Association of Republika Srpska Women Victims of War welcomes the construction of the central memorial to fallen soldiers of the Defensive – Patriotic War. The ceremonial unveiling of the memorial has been announced for January 8 in Banja Luka as part of the marking of Republika Srpska Day.
