COMPLETE POLITICAL STABILITY CONFIRMED; IT IS ENTIRELY IRRELEVANT WHAT CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF BiH WILL DECIDE
BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 19 /SRNA/ - By electing a new government, Republika Srpska confirms full political responsibility and stability; it is entirely irrelevant what decisions the Constitutional Court of BiH may make, said SNSD President Milorad Dodik.
Dodik emphasized that it is completely irrelevant what the Constitutional Court of BiH will decide regarding the constitutionality of the previous government, stressing that Republika Srpska’s institutions have full legitimacy. He stated that Sarajevo persistently imposes its agenda on Republika Srpska, including discussions about constitutionality that the opposition is trying to push through. Dodik believes that the Constitutional Court of BiH should have declared itself incompetent, because the Dayton Agreement does not state that it has authority over the government; rather, this could potentially fall under the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court of Republika Srpska. “They had no right to accept that, which shows that their intentions were corrupt. What they will do is completely irrelevant; that court disqualified itself long ago,” Dodik told ATV. He asked what could be trusted from them if they are ready to undermine the Constitution, which they should be protecting. He believes it is a breeding ground for the highest level of corruption, given the way it operates. “They are trying to sow unrest in Republika Srpska. In an effort to break this cycle of uncertainty and give them a chance, we stated our intention to proceed with a government reconstruction, and that is what we did,” Dodik said. He added that he has neither trust nor any desire to engage in talks with the “troublemakers from the opposition” who keep pointing fingers. Dodik also pointed out that the opposition does not know what it wants, noting that they even walked out of yesterday’s session of the National Assembly when the vote on the new government took place. “They spent the whole day shouting, and when they had exhausted everything with discussions all day, they walked out at the time of the vote. That is an abuse. It is not proper to leave during a vote, because it is your duty; you can be for, against, or abstain,” Dodik explained. He emphasized that the intention is to enter this year with strength, as it is a year of growth, progress, and development.
