ŠERANIĆ: CONTINUED INVESTMENT IN IMPROVING HEALTHCARE
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 3 /SRNA/ - Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska Alen Šeranić announced that the Laktaši Health Center will receive a new ambulance through a donation from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in BiH, stressing that investments in improving primary healthcare in this local community are continuing.
Šeranić said that the new ambulance will be provided as part of the donation from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in BiH and is expected to be handed over on February 18. He added that, as part of the same donation, ambulances will also be delivered to the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska and the Istočno Sarajevo Health Center. “It is important for us also to procure a digital X-ray machine to complete the range of services at the Laktaši Health Center. I hope that in the coming period, in cooperation with the World Bank, we will be able to realize this as well,” Šeranić told reporters after visiting the Laktaši Health Center. He expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the plan of the City of Laktaši and the Ministry to build and reconstruct outpatient clinics in Slatina, Trn, and Veliko Blaško, in order to meet the needs of citizens who do not live near the central Health Center. “The Health Center provides strong support, as part of activities related to the Ministry’s projects, such as the Healthy Communities project. Within the nursing project as well, they have an appropriate and active role,” Šeranić said. Mayor of Laktaši Miroslav Bojić said that significant investments have been made in the city’s primary health care system over the past four years, and thanked the Ministry for its cooperation on these projects. “We built an outpatient clinic in Slatina and reconstructed the clinic in Trn. We installed an elevator for patients at the Health Center. At the Emergency Medical Service, we replaced the joinery and heat pumps. The plan this year is to replace the joinery in the central Health Center facilities. We purchased land in Veliko Blaško, where we plan to build an outpatient clinic,” Bojić said. Bojić identified the procurement of an X-ray diagnostic device as the most pressing need of the Laktaši Health Center. “I am confident that we will accomplish this as well this year. Everything we do is for the benefit of our patients and the population,” Bojić said. Acting Director of the “Dr Mladen Stojanović” Health Center in Laktaši, Biljana Petković, thanked Šeranić for his visit. “I would like to thank the Ministry and the Minister for the donation of the ambulance, which will be at the service of all our citizens,” Petković said.
