RAKOVIĆ: USA CONFIRMS WARMER ATTITUDE TOWARD SRPSKA

BELGRADE, FEBRUARY 5 /SRNA/ – Historian Aleksandar Raković has stressed that the visit of the delegation of Republika Srpska to Washington and their meetings with US officials demonstrate warming of relations between the United States and Republika Srpska and its leadership.

BELGRADE, FEBRUARY 5 /SRNA/ – Historian Aleksandar Raković has stressed that the visit of the delegation of Republika Srpska to Washington and their meetings with US officials demonstrate warming of relations between the United States and Republika Srpska and its leadership.

Raković believes that this is highly significant and that it is most important for Sarajevo to see that Republika Srpska has not been rejected by the international community, as was previously claimed, and that Dodik is not an undesirable representative of Republika Srpska. "We have a new situation in which Dodik, after the lifting of sanctions, was invited to the National Prayer Breakfast, which is a major event," Raković told SRNA. He emphasized that no one can dispute that this is an official visit to the United States, including everything else that is taking place. The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, the acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić-Babić, and SNSD President Milorad Dodik will attend the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington today. During their stay in the USA, Cvijanović and Dodik have held a series of meetings with US officials and politicians and important meetings are also expected today and tomorrow.
