MAZALICA: KARAN CAREFUL NOT TO GIVE CEC THE SLIGHTEST REASON TO PUNISH HIM, KOVAČEVIĆ’S STATEMENT ACCURATE
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 6 /SRNA/ – A member of the SNSD Main Committee, Srđan Mazalica, says he has information that the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH, as the saying goes, “waiting for the SNSD presidential candidate in Republika Srpska repeat snap elections, Siniša Karan, around the corner”, trying to find a reason to eliminate him as a candidate.
Commenting on a statement by SNSD spokesperson Radovan Kovačević that the party had obtained reliable information that the CEC, official Sarajevo, and the opposition from Republika Srpska had reached an agreement aimed at removing the party’s presidential candidate Siniša Karan from the ballot, disqualifying him and preventing voting for him in the repeat snap elections, Mazalica told SRNA that these pieces of information appear to be accurate in every respect. “Siniša Karan has for some time been avoiding appearances on various media outlets, which I have personally witnessed, because he is taking care not to give the CEC even the slightest reason to punish him. So far, we have witnessed how politically biased this commission is and how it acts as official Sarajevo and our opposition’s extended arm,” Mazalica emphasized. He says he is even convinced that the decision on repeat elections at 136 polling stations was not made because of the possibility of overturning the result, but precisely to prolong uncertainty and destabilization of Republika Srpska, while in the meantime creating grounds to remove Siniša Karan from the candidate list.
