DODIK: I RAISED POSSIBLE SANCTIONS AGAINST SCHMIDT WITH IMPORTANT PERSON
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 7 /SRNA/ – SNSD President Milorad Dodik said that he would be pleased if sanctions were imposed on Christian Schmidt, and that he discussed this with an important official during his visit to the United States.
Dodik stressed that it would be good if sanctions were imposed on Schmidt, as well as on some others in Sarajevo, because, as he said, they were involved in a joint criminal enterprise and abuses against Republika Srpska. "I had a conversation with an important person and I would be very pleased if I managed to achieve that, although we are not sure that we will," Dodik said at a press conference in Banja Luka. He expressed satisfaction that just 14 or 15 hours earlier, members of the delegation from Republika Srpska had spoken with the US spokesperson at the White House. "We met and talked about Republika Srpska. We did not say anything bad about Muslims or about anything else. Bosnia is unacceptable to us and we will do our job the way we think we should and we will not give up on that," Dodik said. He noted that there are certain plans, which he will present to the public when the atmosphere and conditions are right. Dodik stressed that Republika Srpska has shown that it can conduct a diversified foreign policy based on several key states and allies. "There is no doubt that in the first place that is Serbia, which we take care of and with which we coordinate aspects of foreign policy, and with its president, Aleksandar Vučić, we exchange certain values," Dodik said. He stated that Republika Srpska informs Serbia, as a signatory to the Dayton Agreement, about all aspects of the erosion of that agreement. "Cooperation with Serbia will be intensified, and we will seek, as Republika Srpska, to officially inform Serbia through its institutions about all these talks, as well as about our perspectives and views," Dodik said.
