IGOR DODIK: SDS LEADERSHIP ATTACKS ITS OWN PEOPLE AFTER LOSING VOTERS’ TRUST INSTEAD OF QUESTIONING ITS OWN FAULTS
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 8 /SRNA/ – SNSD Organizational Secretary Igor Dodik has stated for SRNA that it is both sad and humiliating to see a party that once bore historical responsibility in the hardest moments for the Serb people, now blaming that same people for its own electoral defeat.
“Instead of asking why citizens do not trust them, the SDS leadership decided to attack the will of the voters, as if the people are obliged to vote the way they want,” Dodik stressed. After it became clear that the people of Republika Srpska gave their trust in the presidential elections to SNSD candidate Siniša Karan, and denied it to SDS candidate Branko Blanuša, Dodik said the public had the opportunity to see the true face of the opposition through Ognjen Bodiroga’s statements. Dodik added that it is even more humiliating that their press releases and media appearances contain not a single word condemning the constant political attacks from Sarajevo on Republika Srpska and its institutions. “While political and judicial campaigns are waged against Srpska, their biggest problem is their own people who did not vote for them. This clearly shows where their priorities lie. They are closer to the scent of furniture in foreign embassies and smiles with political partners from Sarajevo and Christian Schmidt than to the democratic voice of their own people,” the SNSD Organizational Secretary noted. He said it is easier for them to seek support from abroad than to face the fact that they have lost trust at home, which is why they lose elections and will not come to power. “Because Republika Srpska is not won by attacking one’s own people, but by fighting for their interests. And that fight, obviously, is no longer being carried out by those who today showed otherwise in front of the cameras,” Dodik concluded.
