MINIĆ: AMERICA, A PARTNER OF SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 10 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić stated that the United States is a partner of Srpska and emphasized that Srpska seeks to protect its institutions and operate within the framework of the original Dayton Peace Agreement.

Following a meeting with the US Special Representative for Global Partnership, Paolo Zampolli, Minić said that Republika Srpska was highly honored by his visit, noting that Zampolli is an exceptionally influential diplomat. At a press conference in Banja Luka, he said that he had briefed Zampolli on developments in BiH, both regarding the way the country functions and the challenges it faces. "The United States is quite well informed about the situation, particularly regarding the intensified diplomatic relations with all partners, to whom we have presented how Srpska intends to move forward in the period ahead," Minić said. The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska pointed out that Srpska wants the original Dayton Peace Agreement to be fully respected. According to him, the United States is an absolutely realistic partner for Republika Srpska, and Srpska needs to pursue two parallel activities: protecting its institutions and presenting Srpska as it truly is. "We are not a destabilizing factor, nor are we pursuing any secession," Minić said. He thanked Zampolli, who, as he said, will deliver the projects discussed by the Republika Srpska delegation during its visit to the United States to the appropriate authorities.
