TIME TO BREAK STEREOTYPES ABOUT SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 11 /SRNA/ – The Serb BiH Presidency member, Željka Cvijanović, says it is time to break stereotypes about Republika Srpska and that she believes the diplomatic activities of her delegation in recent days have served that purpose.

BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 11 /SRNA/ – The Serb BiH Presidency member, Željka Cvijanović, says it is time to break stereotypes about Republika Srpska and that she believes the diplomatic activities of her delegation in recent days have served that purpose.

“We are on a mission to spread the truth or to remove certain injustices we have faced. I believe we are doing it well, and we will do it even better,” Cvijanović said. She emphasized that she is satisfied with what has been achieved, first of all with the level of understanding and friendship they encountered at the addresses they visited. She noted that they were aware of their positioning when it comes to Hungary and Israel, while in the case of the United States there is a new step forward, as there is now a new administration open to hearing everyone, not being bound by imposed stereotypes. “We share values; we have political values that align with the people we are speaking with - a sovereigntist approach, a traditional approach,” Cvijanović stated. She pointed out that ones in the United States clearly expressed their interest in economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities, but also had the opportunity to present important positions of Republika Srpska and explain what is happening in BiH. “If you have a devastated foreign policy, an entire decision-making system that is undermined, and a failure to respect the Constitution and constitutional competencies, then it is perfectly normal that you must make an effort yourself to communicate your positions,” Cvijanović told the portal Provjereno. She pointed out that BiH has nothing cohesive in terms of foreign policy, stating that Bosniak politicians dismantled it long ago, and that every opportunity should therefore be used to present Srpska’s positions, ensuring they are accurate, without any intention of causing harm to others. “We were given excellent opportunities to communicate what we think, to do it in a way that takes nothing away from anyone, but we have the right to protect our rights, and we are doing that,” Cvijanović said. She underlined that the new U.S. administration has a very rational approach toward this region. She also recalled the words of U.S. President Donald Trump that there is no longer an approach in their foreign policy that means building other people’s states and nations. “That clearly shows they understand the context here. As soon as you have an unappointed foreigner who believes he can stand above a parliament, you are already in conflict with everyone in this administration - in a mental and political conflict,” Cvijanović said. She has assessed that the unappointed foreigner will leave and that the matter will be resolved in the near future. “I think we have entered the final phase in which we must confront those globalist instruments, but it remains to be seen how long that phase of dismantling will last. I am very optimistic about it,” Cvijanović said. According to her, BiH can survive only if it functions through dialogue and agreement, based on the framework confirmed by the Dayton. “We are not ready to fulfill other people’s wishes; I believe these matters should become the subject of agreement and reality. For us, Republika Srpska is the most important political objective - within that, it is about to be stable, peaceful, and developing,” Cvijanović emphasized. Cvijanović noted that the Sarajevo mentality believes that BiH belongs to them, so they privatized everything; at one point they were even allowed to privatize foreign state, which is no longer the case. “We are not trying to close doors to them; they tried to close doors to us, but we were persistent. We are working for our own good because we must correct an injustice that existed,” Cvijanović said. Referring to the opposition’s views regarding the visit to Washington, Cvijanović said that only someone foolish and uninformed could think that lifting sanctions on 50 individuals and business entities in a single move is a personal matter, without recognizing that there is some goodwill behind it.
