VERDICT AGAINST CHRISTIAN SCHMIDT IS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES' CONSTITUTIONAL - LEGAL COMMISSION'S OPINION
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 17 /SRNA/ –Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić emphasized that the Opinion of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly's House of Representatives' Constitutional - Legal Commission that reads that the high representative does not have the constitutional authority to enact laws represents a verdict against Christian Schmidt.
"No right to appeal," Stevandić posted on X. At a session held on February 13, the Constitutional - Legal Commission of the House of Representatives concluded that the high representative does not have the constitutional authority to enact laws, therefore the provisions of the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH are unconstitutional. The conclusion was adopted following a request by the Constitutional Court of BiH to assess the constitutionality of Article 203a of the Criminal Code of BiH, as well as the standalone Article Four of the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH announced at the time.
