BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 17 /SRNA/ – The newly elected President of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan stated that the institutional stability of Srpska will be his goal and that standing behind the strength and defence of the constitutional order of the Republic is a duty and obligation.

After taking the solemn oath before the Republika Srpska National Assembly, Karan said that the unified struggle for Srpska should continue and that what the Dayton Peace Agreement granted must be preserved. He thanked everyone for their trust and emphasized that the Serb people has shown that in the most difficult moments they make sovereign decisions and decide their own destiny. "Republika Srpska was created by a sovereign decision and will endure forever!" Karan stated. Karan thanked the leader of the SNSD Milorad Dodik, everyone who voted for him in the elections, as well as those who were against him, as they are part of the electoral process. The newly elected president of Republika Srpska stressed that Serb representatives in the institutions of BiH should act as a unified body. According to him, Republika Srpska is open to dialogue with everyone, both within and outside it. "The will of the people will be my guiding principle so that we can preserve and safeguard the status of Republika Srpska," Karan emphasized.
