ČAVOŠKI: KARAN WILL DEFEND SERBIAN INTEREST AND COOPERATE CLOSELY WITH SERBIA

BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 17 /SRNA/ - Member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts /SANU/ Kosta Čavoški congratulated Siniša Karan on his official assumption of office as the President of Republika Srpska, with the expectation that he will strongly defend and represent the interests of Serbs and cooperate very closely with the authorities of Serbia.

Čavoški told SRNA that Karan achieved a brilliant victory in the past repeated elections for the president of Republika Srpska, and that he won it together with the SNSD and coalition partners in very difficult conditions, since foreign actors and financiers who represented the side of his opponent were involved in the process. "All that stirred up the people in Republika Srpska. However, the number of votes that Karan received in the repeated elections was really fairly obtained and impressive. As you can see, the people made the right decision and elected the right man," said Čavoški. He said that by assuming the duties of Karan at the head of Republika Srpska, he is an official who defends the interests of Serbs in Srpska and wherever they are. "I expect that Karan will have a very close cooperation with Serbia, and I hope for something much bigger," Čavoški emphasized. The new President of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan was sworn in today in the National Assembly. The BiH Central Election Commission confirmed on February 13 that Karan, the SNSD candidate, was elected president of Republika Srpska.
