FBiH-BASED PARTIES PROVOKING; ADEQUATE RESPONSE ISSUE TO BE REVIEWED
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 18 /SRNA/ – The Republika Srpska War Veterans Organisation /BORS/ described as a provocation the announced signing of an agreement by the political parties SDP, NiP, NES, PDA and Naprijed scheduled for tomorrow in Banja Luka, noting that it will review the issue of an appropriate response.
BORS considers it inappropriate for FBiH-based parties to sign any agreements on the territory of Republika Srpska as long as frequent incidents directed against the Serb people continue to occur in FBiH. In condemning the announced signing of the agreement, BORS cited that this is an attempt to portray BiH as a unitary state, which it is not and never will be. “The Republika Srpska War Veterans Organisation will also review the issue of an adequate response to this provocation should the announced agreement signing take place in the area of Banja Luka or Republika Srpska,” reads the organization’s statement. They recalled that several days ago in Bihać automatic gunfire was heard during the marking of an event from the past war, and that Široki Brijeg permitted a concert by the controversial Thompson, during which Ustasha slogans were shouted. BORS emphasized that despite their objections and those of other politicians from Republika Srpska, the authorities in FBiH did not even condemn these incidents. “We consider it inappropriate for leaders of FBiH-based political parties to come to Republika Srpska to sign coalition agreements until the mentioned parties make an effort to condemn these incidents and prosecute those responsible who insult and intimidate the Serb people as a constituent people in BiH,” the statement emphasized.
