BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 19 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić stated that Republika Srpska must be engaged in dialogue, rather than having discussions about it without its participation, and that its constitutional and legal position must be respected.

During the talks held with the Ambassador of Italy to BiH Sarah Eti Castellani, Stevandić emphasized that Italy’s presence in the economy and its understanding of procedures and culture in BiH open the possibility for Italy to be a factor in stabilizing relations and the process of accession to the European Union. During the meeting in Banja Luka, the importance of open and constructive dialogue was highlighted, reads Republika Srpska National Assembly's statement. Stevandić said that the policy of Republika Srpska finds the actions of the high representative unacceptable, especially the imposition of laws, assessing that his existence and work represent an anti-civilizational and anti-European act. National Assembly Speaker stressed that Italy has not presented itself in BiH as a country that takes sides, but rather as a partner seeking to understand the complex relations and specificities of the internal order. The meeting addressed the current political situation, as well as Republika Srpska - Italy cooperation. The Deputy Head of Mission to BiH Riccardo Righelli also attended the meeting.
