PALE, FEBRUARY 20 /SRNA/ – The 35th anniversary of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will be marked in Pale on October 24, Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić has said today after a meeting with representatives of the Creators of Republika Srpska Association.

Stevandić explained that October 24 marks the day in 1991 when the decision was adopted to form the Assembly of the Serb People in BiH. It was agreed that the event would be held in Pale, described as its cradle, and that priority would be given to representatives of the first convocation, who will be part of the Organizing Committee. He stated that Milorad Dodik will serve as president of the Organizing Committee, while vice presidents from the first convocation will chair it, and that he, as Speaker of the National Assembly, will assist them. For the first time, a ceremonial academy marking the Day of the National Assembly will be held at the Cultural Center in Pale on October 24, which this year also marks the 35th anniversary, Stevandić said, thanking Association President Stevan Medić for his understanding. Medić said it means a great deal to the Association that the 35th anniversary of the National Assembly will be marked in Pale on October 24, stressing that they will make a full contribution to the organization. He thanked Stevandić for recognizing the importance of the date and for addressing those who made that date historic. Medić reminded that to mark the date, a monument had been erected in Pale and a museum established in the "Mali dom".
