KOŠARAC: SRPSKA HAS ADEQUATE ENERGY POLICIES
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 26 /SRNA/ - Staša Košarac, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers, said today that Republika Srpska has adequate policies, as well as credible and strategic approaches in the energy sector.
Košarac emphasized that the regional conference on renewable energy, the Balkan Solar Summit, represents an example of integrated policies in Republika Srpska aimed at ensuring energy stability in Republika Srpska, as well as in BiH. "I expect appropriate conclusions so that policies can be directed toward their implementation, because the ambition of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the energy sector, beyond its coordinating role between the competent entity ministries, is to incorporate the conclusions of the summit into the policies we intend to define and adopt at the level of BiH," Košarac told reporters. He added that this event and the Energy Summit in Trebinje demonstrate Republika Srpska's commitment to the energy sector and confirm that Republika Srpska is a venue for international dialogue on important issues. "This confirms the commitment to holding discussions in Banja Luka on topics related to energy, the energy transition, and the fulfillment of obligations arising from international agreements signed by BiH," Košarac emphasized. Ervin Leko, program director of the Balkan Solar Summit, said that a number of topics will be reviewed, with new ones including energy aggregation and storage, batteries, grid-connection issues, and related matters. "This year, we have more than 400 participants from BiH and 11 European countries, as well as from China and Japan," Leko said. The regional conference on renewable energy, the Balkan Solar Summit, opened today in Banja Luka, focusing on the development of a sustainable energy system and the strengthening of regional cooperation. Over the course of two days, the conference is expected to bring together more than 400 experts, industry leaders, investors, and key stakeholders, with the aim of developing concrete solutions aligned with regional and European standards, positioning the Balkan Solar Summit as a central forum for dialogue on the energy transition in the region.
