SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 26 /SRNA/ - Deputy Defense Minister in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović met today in Sarajevo with US Armed Forces Admiral George Wikoff, who also serves as Commander of US Navy Forces in Europe and Africa, and as Commander of Allied Joint Forces in Naples.

During the meeting, the interlocutors agreed that it is crucial to continue work on maintaining peace in BiH and the region, implementing reforms in the defense system as well as in other areas, and strengthening cooperation with NATO, the USA and European partners. As part of the meeting, Goganović had the opportunity to meet the future commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, US Armed Forces Brigadier General James Fowler, and expressed confidence in continuing good cooperation and communication based on mutual respect and understanding. Goganović pointed to the significance of having a US Armed Forces general at the head of NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, noting that this has a strong stabilizing effect. "Continue to be our reliable partner, and we will be yours," Goganović said. The meeting at the Ministry of Defense was also attended by Defense Minister Zukan Helez and Deputy Minister from the ranks of Croats Slaven Galić.
