GAGIĆ CALLS FOR DECISIVE RESPONSE TO ACTIONS OF BiH JUDICIAL INSTITUTIONS
BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 28 /SRNA/ – A decisive response is needed to the practice of the BiH Court and Prosecutor’s Office of filing indictments against Serbs over spoken words, because if such practice continues, the Serb people will be forced to live according to dictates imposed by others, Chairperson of the Presidency of the Republika Srpska Veterans' Organization /BORS/ Milovan Gagić told SRNA.
“If this practice continues, we will reach a situation where the court will determine what we are allowed to say, how to think, and what positions we may hold,” Gagić said. He stated that through the constant filing of indictments against Serbs, including the recent one against Vlasenica Mayor Miroslav Kraljević, the BiH Court and Prosecutor’s Office are demonstrating continuity of a selective approach. Gagić pointed out that the Kraljević case is another in a series of similar examples over the past month or two in which the BiH Court and Prosecutor’s Office act when Serbs are concerned, while in situations involving the other side there is no reaction, no proceedings are initiated, let alone verdicts reached. The BiH Court confirmed the indictment charging Kraljević with inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, and intolerance, the BiH Prosecutor’s Office announced earlier. According to the indictment, the disputed statements relate to public appearances in which he expressed respect for Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić.
