SECURITY MEASURES ENHANCED IN SRPSKA
BANJA LUKA, MARCH 2 /SRNA/ - The Ministry of the Interior /MoI/ of Republika Srpska has strengthened security measures to ensure a timely response and prevent potential terrorist attacks in the territory of Republika Srpska, particularly in the vicinity of the Jewish Cultural Center in Banja Luka and against other Jewish communities.
The Ministry stated that the current security situation in Republika Srpska is stable, and that the measures have been raised to a higher level due to the possible spillover of the crisis caused by the escalation of violence in the Middle East, taking into account the links of certain individuals from the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ with extremist groups and their involvement in terrorist attacks in BiH and worldwide. “As part of these activities, members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and the Gendarmerie are repeatedly visiting facilities of special interest, conducting enhanced surveillance, and undertaking preventive measures to safeguard the security of all citizens,” the Interior Ministry said in a statement. The Ministry also emphasized that it will continue to carry out its constitutionally and legally mandated duties and tasks in a professional manner, and called on citizens to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or by calling 122.
