KOŠARAC: SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT DODIK'S INITIATIVE TO CUT RELATIONS WITH IRAN, IT IS MATTER OF OUR SECURITY

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, MARCH 6 /SRNA/ -The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac stated that the Serbian people were victims of a struggle against Christianity inspired by the Islamic Declaration of Alija Izetbegović, which he said served as an ideological guide for Muslims during the war and continues to do so today.

Košarac told SRNA that, in light of the current conflicts in the Middle East, he wants to remind the public of Iran's role during the war in BiH and its ties with Alija Izetbegović, as well as the then Muslim political and military leadership. "At the beginning of the war, a conference was organized in Tehran with the aim of mobilizing Islamic countries to support Alija Izetbegović. At that time, they decided to provide him with financial and military assistance in the war against Republika Srpska and the Serbian people in BiH. In that context, Iran sent thousands of its soldiers who participated in the most horrific crimes against Serbs. We will never forget the monstrous crimes in Vozuća, where foreign Islamist fighters cut off Serbian heads," Košarac recalled. He emphasized that precisely because of all the above, today, when we are witnessing new conflicts in the Middle East, we must be aware that we belong to a different civilizational circle compared to Iran and that it is necessary to reconsider our diplomatic and economic relations with that country. "I support the initiative of President Milorad Dodik to sever those relations, because it is a matter of our security and preserving our identity," Košarac said, asking whether political Sarajevo will support this initiative and whether the silence of Bosniak politicians actually means support for Iran. He concluded by saying that Republika Srpska is oriented toward its own values and allies who respect the sovereignty of peoples and the national and religious identity of the Serbs.
