THE ISSUE OF EXCISE TAXES AND FUEL PRICES NOT WITHIN JURISDICTION OF COUNCIL OF MINISTERS

SARAJEVO, MARCH 24 /SRNA/ - Sanja Vulić, Head of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, told SRNA that the issue of excise taxes and fuel prices is not within the jurisdiction of the Council of Ministers, but of the entity governments.

Vulić said that the SNSD has repeatedly made it clear that the Council of Ministers is not a government and that powers outside the constitutional framework cannot be imposed on it. Commenting on the statement by the Prime Minister of the Federation BiH /FBiH/, Nermin Nikšić, that the SNSD “does not act in the interest of citizens,” Vulić said that the Republika Srpska Government has adopted concrete measures related to refunding excise revenues to citizens. “Ten percent for the businesses and twenty percent for citizens. Those are measures that are felt, not statements for the media,” Vulić said. She said that Nikšić came to power by the decision of the illegitimate Christian Schmidt, when he suspended the Constitution of the Federation of BiH for one day. “Nermin, imposed Nikšić, before accusing others of populism, start with the facts. You are not the will of the citizens; you are the will of Schmidt’s guard. So don’t confuse populism with responsible governance. The difference is obvious, because you spent a long time in the opposition, where you belong,” Vulić said.
