AMIDŽIĆ: EXCISE LAW PROPOSAL RISKS UNDERMINING SRPSKA'S RIGHTS

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 26 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers Srđan Amidžić has stated today in Banja Luka that the proposed amendments to the Law on Excise Duties violate the rights of Republika Srpska, as the Council of Ministers has no authority over entities' original revenues.

“With this proposal, they are trying to turn the Council of Ministers into what they want it to be, a government of BiH,” Amidžić said at a press conference. He stressed that Bosniaks support the proposed law because, as a first step, it would allow the Council of Ministers to decide on the level of excise duties, and later on the level of VAT, thereby transferring yet another competence from the entities to the Council of Ministers.
