DECISIONS OF INCOMPLETE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF BiH SHOW ITS ABSURDITY AND FLAWED NATURE

SARAJEVO, MARCH 28 /SRNA/ – The incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH has once again shown that it serves as an instrument of political Sarajevo in an attempt to strip Republika Srpska of its competencies and undermine its constitutional and legal order, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac told SRNA.

Košarac stressed that by declaring certain provisions of the Republika Srpska Law on Police unconstitutional, the incomplete Constitutional Court is attempting to gradually reintroduce the issue of police reform. "Тhese attempts are futile. Republika Srpska will never accept Sarajevo placing our police under its control, nor will it operate under their orders," Košarac said. Košarac stressed that the policy of SNSD, led by President Milorad Dodik, has clearly rejected the concept of a centralized police force in BiH. "Twenty years ago, we firmly rejected Sarajevo's attempts to seize the competencies of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior and transfer key functions and communication channels to the BiH level. We did not allow it then, and we will not allow it today," Košarac said. According to him, the decision of the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH to declare the draft constitution of Republika Srpska unconstitutional best illustrates the absurdity and flawed nature of this body, which, he said, has long stepped outside the framework of constitutionality and legality. "Determining the constitutionality of a draft document is something that even someone merely passing by a law faculty would not accept, let alone any serious legal expert. It is a nonsense not worth discussing," Košarac added.
