STEVANDIĆ: DEFENDING SRPSKA EASIER BECAUSE WORLD IS NOW FAMILIAR WITH TRUTH ABOUT SUFFERING OF SERBS

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 2 /SRNA/ – The image of Serbs in the world has changed, and now that the truth is known, it is easier to defend Republika Srpska, its institutions, property, and competencies, said Nenad Stevandić, the Republika Srpska National Assembly speaker.

After the promotion of the monograph "Our Testimony Two – Republika Srpska Women Victims of War 1992–1995," Stevandić told the press in Banja Luka that Serbs had been demonized, but that it is now completely clear that all peoples suffered in a similar way. "The fact is that the post-war suffering caused by imposing false guilt exclusively on Serbs has produced the most consequences," Stevandić stated. When the truth is sobering and speaks about the suffering of the Serb people or any information in their favour, Stevandić says, it takes the longest to emerge and is often hidden. "It is undeniable that today the truth has surfaced and that we all support the head of the Association of Women Victims of War Božica Živković-Rajilić, who preserved that flame which we are now carrying around the world. Primarily Željka Cvijanović through international activities, as well as Milorad Dodik, Siniša Karan, Minister Radan Ostojić and myself," Stevandić noted. He says he is proud that this political generation has matured and that the truth is now undeniable, which is the result not only of changed international circumstances but also of endurance. "We were ready to endure many things – threats, imprisonment, and arrest warrants, but we never gave up on the truth about our people," Stevandić emphasized. The monograph was published by the Republika Srpska Research Centre of War, War Crimes and Tracing Missing Persons and the Association of Women Victims of War.
