BRADARA CALLS ON INSTITUTIONS TO FIND WAY TO OPEN GRADIŠKA BORDER CROSSING
SARAJEVO, APRIL 2 /SRNA/ – The Federation of BiH President Lidija Bradara called on the competent institutions to find a way to end the blockade of the opening of the new Gradiška border crossing, which has been repeatedly obstructed by a member of the Governing Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/ of BiH, Zijad Krnjić, appointed by the Federation Government.
“How can anyone take it upon themselves to block something into which so much has been invested, something that would enable easier traffic flow for everyone in BiH, something that would facilitate travel to the EU and return from it?” Bradara asked. She stressed that no problem is solved by creating blockades and generating additional issues, reminding that, in addition to BiH, Croatia has also invested significant funds. “BiH has invested everything needed to connect with Croatia, and therefore with the EU, and now someone finds a reason why the border crossing should not be opened,” Bradara stated. She said that members of the Federation Government had considered dismissing Krnjić, who was appointed as an expert, but that there are concerns the judiciary could reinstate him, given the current state of the judicial system. Bradara pointed out that it is evident there is no readiness to resolve the issue of the Gradiška border crossing, but expressed hope that institutions will find a way for it to be opened soon.
