SRNA CELEBRATES 34 YEARS OF WORK AND ITS PATRON SAINT DAY ANNUNCIATION
BIJELJINA, APRIL 6 /SRNA/ - The News Agency of Republika Srpska - SRNA will celebrate its patron saint day, Annunciation, and 34 years of operation tomorrow.
On this occasion, Acting General Director of the SRNA agency Tatjana Parađina stated that the national news agency ended the past year very successfully, which provides an incentive to continue working even more strongly and better in this and every following year, with new ideas and quality news. Speaking about SRNA's operations, Parađina said that significant progress was achieved in the development of the agency over the past year, reflecting the serious, responsible, and prudent work of the Management and Supervisory Board. "SRNA ended the previous year with positive business results, with no debts or unpaid tax and contribution obligations. Employees' salaries are paid regularly and, which is very important to emphasize, wages were significantly increased twice, last year and at the beginning of this year," Parađina stressed. She said that new projects of the SRNA agency have gained visibility in the public, such as the podcast aired every Saturday at 10:00 a.m., reports broadcast on the last Sunday of the month at 10:00 a.m., as well as the English-language portal, which records a large number of daily views, particularly from the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia and China. Our texts across various journalistic genres, as well as audio and video recordings and photographs, Parađina emphasized, have reached all media - domestic, regional, and global - because SRNA is a reliable, accurate, precise, and verified source of information that is trusted. "Over these 34 years, SRNA has remained a credible national agency whose news is among the most widely carried. We will continue in the same way, adhering to professional standards. We will strive to justify the trust of the public, our users, and business partners, and we thank them for their successful cooperation, confident that it will continue in the future," Parađina said. Parađina expressed gratitude for the support provided to SRNA by the institutions of Republika Srpska, above all President of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan, Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović, Prime Minister Savo Minić and ministers, Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, as well as representatives of Srpska in joint BiH institutions - ministers in the Council of Ministers, MPs, and delegates. She said that SRNA will continue to develop and modernize in order to maintain its status as the oldest and most cited media house in Republika Srpska. "SRNA and Republika Srpska have been inseparably linked since their founding and will remain so! We have proven countless times that we can, that we will, and that we responsibly fulfill our tasks. I am confident that even in these very challenging and complex times we will continue to record successes for the satisfaction of all of us and our public," Parađina emphasized. She also thanked all employees for their effort and work, wishing them a happy Annunciation feast and 34 years of SRNA's existence, along with much success in their private and professional lives. SRNA was founded by a decision of the National Assembly of the then Serb Republic of BiH on Annunciation, April 7, 1992, in Pale, as the Serb News Agency - SRNA. Prominent Serb intellectuals, journalists, and writers who traveled from Sarajevo to Pale participated in the establishment of SRNA, working in a small wartime newsroom. These individuals, most responsible for the creation of the agency, were characterized by determination, enthusiasm, and a desire to bring the truth about the war in BiH to the world. Unfortunately, many of them are no longer alive, but their contributions remain an enduring mark not only within SRNA but also in Serb journalism. The best confirmation of SRNA's success is the fact that during the wartime period its news was used by leading global agencies such as Reuters, AFP, AP, ITAR-TASS, RIA Novosti, DPA, BTK, Japan's Kyodo, Italy's ANSA and around 120 other users from the former Yugoslavia and around the world. During the war years, SRNA's correspondent network grew to include 48 correspondents from Republika Srpska, 10 offices from Serbia and Montenegro, offices in Vukovar and Knin, and 22 correspondents abroad. Since 1998, the agency's headquarters has been in Bijeljina, and by decision of the Government of Srpska on March 27, 2008, it received its current name - News Agency of Republika Srpska - SRNA.
