ŠOLAJA: TRUMP JR VISIT REPRESENTS ECONOMIC ADVANCE FOR SRPSKA
BANJA LUKA, APRIL 7 /SRNA/ - The visit of Donald Trump Jr. to Banja Luka represents an important economic step for Republika Srpska, Bojan Šolaja of the Center for International and Security Studies told SRNA.
Šolaja stressed that Trump Jr.'s visit is the result of diplomatic activities carried out by the leadership of Republika Srpska over the past year, aimed at creating opportunities for economic development and attracting investors. "Republika Srpska is open to cooperation with everyone and will use the space available to it to achieve cooperation both in the East and in the West. This visit is the result of those activities in a broader sense. It is primarily focused on the economy," Šolaja stressed. He pointed out that Republika Srpska's goal was to secure its own opportunity and position on the international stage. "This was the case in cooperation with the United States, as well as in contacts with Russia, and also with Hungary, with which Republika Srpska has achieved excellent cooperation. Republika Srpska is using the opportunities and capacities at its disposal to establish as many contacts and forms of cooperation as possible," Šolaja stated. He said that Republika Srpska's good cooperation and position on the international stage is also evidenced by its access to the global financial market. "American funds have shown interest in investing in this way. This will likely also be discussed today at the forum in Banja Luka. It is the result of all the efforts of Republika Srpska to make use of its constitutional rights," Šolaja said. He added that Republika Srpska's activities are not directed against anyone, but rather toward overall progress and economic development, although this is not understood in Sarajevo. "BiH has an undefined foreign policy. BiH has no clear direction, and therefore no clear goal," Šolaja pointed out. He noted that Sarajevo is used to guests coming only to solve problems, rather than to discuss other topics. "Even at the Dayton Conference, it was stated that the two entities and three constituent peoples should reach agreements. Some in BiH do not recognize this and are not aware that geopolitical circumstances have changed," Šolaja concluded.
