TRUMP JR.: ENERGY SECTOR PRIORITY BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY FOR REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
BANJA LUKA, APRIL 7 /SRNA/ – The son of the U.S. president, Donald Trump Jr., said that electricity represents a priority business opportunity for Republika Srpska and that there is significant potential for cooperation with American companies.
He assessed that Republika Srpska is not sufficiently utilizing its capacities in the energy sector. “Electricity will be everything – it is a major opportunity,” Trump Jr. stressed at today’s panel discussion in Banja Luka, responding to a question about how U.S. funds could help Srpska, which has great potential to supply relatively inexpensive electricity. He noted that an educated workforce is also important and emphasized that Srpska is investing in education. Major opportunity for Republika Srpska lies, Trump says, in its hydropower resources. “You have hydroelectric power plants; you can also build data centres and aim for less bureaucracy,” Trump Jr. said. He stressed that even artificial intelligence, which is increasingly developing, cannot operate without electricity, assessing that without artificial intelligence it will be difficult to achieve further development of civilization. He added that this represents an opportunity for US funds to invest directly in data centres. “I believe it would be a great opportunity for those companies to connect with what you have here,” Trump Jr. emphasized. According to him, it makes sense to invest in such infrastructure and data centres and then connect them with companies that have certain portfolios and work with chips. “As far as I’ve heard, you are not even close to using the capacities you could, and I believe that could be an excellent opportunity for the region to fully utilize that potential because you have the knowledge and everything necessary. Jobs open up on that basis, so I think it would be very good and relatively simple to achieve,” Trump Jr. said. He noted that the United States has large quantities of liquefied gas that it wants to export, assessing that in this regard the cooperation that Republika Srpska plans with the U.S. is significant for development and should be taken into consideration. “You can rely on America in any part of the world, not only regarding national security but also in ensuring pipelines and business operations in that field,” Trump Jr. concluded.
