METROPOLITAN DIMITRIJE: LET US FORGIVE AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER

TREBINJE, APRIL 12 /SRNA/ - His Eminence, Metropolitan of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral, Dimitrije, said that until the Second Coming of Christ, we should open our hearts, correct ourselves, forgive one another, love one another, and believe in Christ, for He is the most natural and humane thing that has appeared in this world.

In his sermon during the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy, which he celebrated this morning on the occasion of the greatest Christian holiday, Easter, in the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Trebinje, he added that today everything is filled with the light of Christ. "Today heaven and earth shine in light; everything is filled with Christ’s light, by which we were created, which gives well-being and both temporary and eternal life. This is Christ who appeared in the form of the God-man Jesus Christ, and His light shines in the darkness, no matter how great the darkness," said Bishop Dimitrije. He added that Christ being in the tomb is an image of the entire history of the world. "He is in the tomb, but on the third day He will rise again; so we too die in this world, but the Lord will come and raise us with Him on that radiant day of His Second Coming, which will be the general resurrection for all of us," said Bishop Dimitrije. After the Holy Liturgy, Easter eggs were distributed to the faithful who attended the service in large numbers. Holy Liturgies, on the occasion of Easter, were also celebrated in all Orthodox churches in other municipalities of eastern Herzegovina.
