VUČIĆ: PEACE AND STABILITY CAN BE PRESERVED ONLY BY BEING STRONG ENOUGH
BEOGRAD, APRIL 15 /SRNA/ – Serbia's President Aleksandar Vučić states that the security situation is somewhat more complex than in January, primarily due to the activities of the Zagreb - Priština - Tirana military alliance, emphasizing that Serbia's commitment to preserving peace and stability has not changed.
"Our determination to preserve peace and stability has not changed, which we can achieve only by being sufficiently strong," Vučić said at a press conference in Belgrade following a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbia’s Armed Forces, which was also attended by the leadership of Republika Srpska. Vučić thanked the leadership of Srpska, which, as he noted, had the opportunity today to assess the security situation, possible threats to Serbia's security, as well as regional peace and stability. According to him, the leadership of Srpska was also able to review the state of Serbia’s military power, its defence potential, and the capacities that Serbia plans to acquire in order to further strengthen these capabilities. He announced that Serbia would sign major contracts in the coming days for the procurement of weapons and military equipment and that important visits are expected. Vučić stated that, as Supreme Commander of the Serbia's Armed Forces, he proposed drafting and adopting a robotization strategy, forming a battalion-level unit equipped with robotic platforms, preparing for the establishment of divisions and battalions of long-range strike drones and loitering munitions. He also proposed training special units to determine target coordinates for directing artillery and air force fire, as well as further equipping and training other units for the use of drones. Vučić said that he had asked legendary commanders of the Serbia’s Armed Forces from the time of the NATO aggression to take part, with even greater enthusiasm, in this revolutionary period of major changes in the Serbia’s Armed Forces, including digitalization and robotization, and the use of the most powerful and modern missiles. The meeting was attended by Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan, National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić, Prime Minister Savo Minić, Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović, Interior Minister Željko Budimir, and Police Director Siniša Kostrešević. Also present were Serbia's Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the General Staff General Milan Mojsilović. The meeting was held at the Banjica 2 barracks in Belgrade.
