GOGANOVIĆ THANKS USA FOR HELICOPTER DONATION, DELIVERY TIMELINE SET FOR SECOND HALF OF 2027

WASHINGTON, APRIL 15 /SRNA/ – Deputy Minister of Defense in the BiH Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović visited the multinational company Leonardo USA, from which six new helicopters will be procured for the Armed Forces under a cooperation program with the United States.

During the visit, Goganović had the opportunity to test the AW-119Kx helicopter, the model to be delivered to the Armed Forces of BiH and expressed gratitude to the United States for the donation, which he said will benefit all peoples in BiH. He noted that the planned multi-purpose helicopters will primarily be used to assist civilian authorities in cases of natural disasters and other emergency situations. Goganović told SRNA that the deployment of the new helicopters will follow a previously adopted decision of the BiH Presidency and the structure of the Armed Forces' Air Force Brigade, with the first squadron to be based in Banja Luka and the second in Sarajevo. In response to SRNA's question when the first delivery is expected, Goganović said it is anticipated in the second half of next year.
