CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS FILED OVER MAHMULJIN'S IMAGE ON POSTERS IN TUZLA

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 16 /SRNA/ – The War Veterans Organisation of Republika Srpska /BORS/ has filed criminal complaints against the organisers of an event in Tuzla, as it was announced with a poster featuring the image of convicted war criminal Sakib Mahmuljin, Branko Grahovac, deputy chairman of the Committee for Families of Fallen and Captured Soldiers within BORS, told SRNA.

"Mahmuljin is a convicted war criminal, under whose command beheadings and horrific crimes were committed on the Ozren–Vozuća battlefield, therefore glorifying his image offends the dignity and feelings, especially of the families of soldiers who were killed there," Grahovac said. He stated that, for causing distress to the families of fallen Serb soldiers, criminal complaints were filed against the chief imam of the Islamic Community Majlis in Tuzla, Ahmed Huskanović, Majlis president Amir Karić, coordinator of the Tuzla Youth Network Nihad Ibrišević, and director of the Bosnian Cultural Centre of Tuzla Canton Sead Mumić. He emphasized that filing criminal complaints is the only thing that can currently be done to defend the dignity of the families. "I do not expect anything good from the Court of BiH, but we have the right to seek a fair trial and for everyone to be tried in the same manner," Grahovac said.
