ŠOBOT: UCC DOCTORS STAND READY TO EXAMINE GENERAL MLADIĆ

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 16 /SRNA/ – A team of doctors from the University Clinical Center /UCC/ of Republika Srpska is always ready to visit General Ratko Mladić and use all available expertise and capacities to assist in his treatment, acting director of the UCC Nikola Šobot said.

“I currently have no information about General Mladić's health condition, as I do not have access to his medical documentation. Doctors from the UCC are always at disposal; first and foremost, we place ourselves in the service of humanity with the aim of helping in General Mladić's treatment,” Šobot told SRNA. He noted that it is necessary for General Mladić's family to request a visit by UCC doctors and for the Hague court to approve it. Šobot reminded that a team of UCC doctors had previously visited General Ratko Mladić and carried out certain examinations within the limits allowed, emphasizing that his health condition at the time was significantly impaired. “At that time, we suggested that General Mladić be transferred to a medical institution in Serbia or Republika Srpska, where he could receive adequate medical care, but that request was denied,” Šobot said. General Ratko Mladić recently suffered a mild stroke and is now in a very serious condition, his son Darko Mladić told SRNA earlier. General Mladić has suffered several strokes and has serious cardiovascular conditions, high blood pressure, neurological damage, as well as kidney problems.
