MINIĆ: GAS PIPELINE PROJECT TO BENEFIT FUTURE GENERATIONS
BANJA LUKA, APRIL 17 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said that the construction of the Šepak-Novi Grad main gas pipeline is a major project for Republika Srpska that will benefit future generations.
Minić stated that the Republika Srpska Government plans to finance the construction of the pipeline through budget funds. "Everything necessary for the implementation of this project, the Government will handle in terms of by-laws and legal solutions and forward them to the National Assembly of Republika Srpska," Minić said at a press conference in Banja Luka following the signing of the pipeline construction contract. He emphasized that this is an important project that also includes plans for electricity generation, noting that gas as an energy source is vital for both the economy and households. "I am particularly pleased with the way public procurement for the execution of works has been conducted and its transparency and I am especially encouraged by the bank guarantee provided by the contractor," Minić said. The framework agreement for the design and construction of the Šepak-Novi Grad main gas pipeline, worth BAM 1.029 billion, was signed today in Banja Luka. The contract was signed by Nedeljko Elek, director of Sarajevo-gas from Istočno Sarajevo, and Miloš Petrović of Konvar from Belgrade, in the presence of Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić and Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić. Konvar is the lead company of the consortium that will carry out the works, which also includes Gastek Inđija, Radis Istočno Sarajevo, the Welding Institute Belgrade, and Jokić Invest Zvornik, the Republika Srpska Ministry of Energy and Mining said earlier.
