GOGANOVIĆ: COOPERATION WITH MARYLAND – AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SRPSKA AND ITS LOCAL COMMUNITIES

WASHINGTON, APRIL 18 /SRNA/ - Aleksandar Goganović, Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, met with representatives of the U.S. state of Maryland - State Secretary Suzan Lee and Major General Janeen Birckhead, Commander of the Maryland National Guard, and expressed gratitude for the continuous support and contribution this U.S. state provides to the development and improvement of the defense system in BiH.

Goganović emphasized that there is significant room for further enhancement of cooperation, not only in the field of defense, but also in the sectors of economy, education, medicine, and other areas of mutual interest. “As someone coming from Republika Srpska, I assure you that there is full readiness to strengthen and deepen this cooperation, both at the entity and local levels, through the engagement of numerous cities and municipalities,” Goganović emphasized during the meeting. He also extended an official invitation to a delegation of the U.S. state of Maryland to visit the city of Doboj. Goganović told SRNA that talks are currently underway on establishing a twinning relationship between a city in the U.S. state of Maryland and the city of Doboj. “Our interlocutors expressed readiness to accept this initiative, as well as the invitation to visit Doboj, which I extended on behalf of Mayor Boris Jerinić,” Goganović said.
